Congratulations to Tasneem Bhaidu, who works at a Toronto Loblaws Great Food. Tasneem will take home the January prize of $50 in President's Choice gift cards for her winning entry in the 2016 Share Your Story contest.
Tasneem's entry:
"My local union has helped me survive in a suffering economy as a student. Along with being a full time student, I have worked part time with Loblaws for four and a half years now. It has been a great experience working part time and being accommodated as a student because of my union backing me and all other part time workers up. The scheduling flexibility has made it easy for me to work and study at the same time. Without my union's support, I would likely have to choose between working and studying. Not only has my union supported me through fighting for fair scheduling, I have also just recently won a $500 scholarship which has helped me purchase books and ease my financial stress. Throughout these four and a half years, I have realized that my union is here for me!"
