Members from across the province came to Wonderland on Saturday, June 10, 2017 for UFCW Canada Local 1006A's Members' Day.
For a discounted park entry fee, members had access to the park, lunch and a union t-shirt. For the first time this year, members also received exclusive early ride access to various rides.
"What an amazing day – we had members from so many workplaces and sectors come out and participate," said Diana O'Brien, a union representative who helped organize the day. "It is great to see such solidarity in our event. Thank you so much to all our volunteers and our members for making it such a success."
The event is about encouraging members' solidarity and participation within their union.
"I came with my son and we had a great day," said Glenda Bell, who works at Loblaws Great Food. "We were the first ones in the park and the first ones on the Leviathan ride."
Annie Sundar, an Executive Board member, volunteered at the event.
"It's important for the union to host Members' Day which brings different workplaces together and provides family with a fun-packed day," she said.
