Ontario's Union for fairness, equality and respect at work.

Members of the 1006A WIN in Ottawa have raised more than $600 for prostate cancer research.

"We wanted to do something that would have an impact on families,” said Caroline Brisebois, a 1006A Executive Board member.

Members hosted a BBQ and joined participants across Canada to “Go Plaid” to help end prostate cancer through donations, fundraising and events.

“The customers loved the idea that a women’s committee was raising money for prostate cancer,” said Brisebois.

Union Rep Jackie Graticola and member Debbie Bastians also helped with the fundraising efforts.

"It was a long but very rewarding day,” said Brisebois. Funds will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Canada. Loblaws Vanier 1014 also donated products for the fundraiser.
