UFCW Canada Local 1006A members at Hilton Garden Inn Toronto ratified a new union contract with several gains.
The four-year contract covers approximately 60 workers. “Our workers at Hilton Garden Inn Toronto showed tremendous strength and unity in achieving a fair union contract with several gains,” said President Wayne Hanley.
Negotiations were led by Union Representative Daiana Dumitru, with support from Union Representative Rick Del Fiacco, and members, Roy Narvaza, Jason Moreira, and Sonam Topgyal.
The term of the contract is from November 1, 2019 to October 31, 2023.
Members at the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto work in a variety of roles, including: Housekeeping, Maintenance, Valet, Servers, Cooks, Hostess, and Dishwasher.
“The negotiating committee was very strong and they knew what they wanted,” said Dumitru.

- 2 paid float days to be used whenever needed, first one effective 2021, second one effective 2023
