Local 1000A members across Ontario flocked to Wild Water Kingdom on June 18, 2011 for the union’s annual Members’ Day. Many brought friends and family along and took in a variety of attractions, from towering waterslides to the massive wave pool.
Jean Yu, who works in night crew at Mississauga’s Real Canadian Superstore, was happy to spend time with loved ones. Her night shift schedule means she doesn’t spend as much time as she would like to with her friends and family.
“This event is a great chance for all of us to see each other and have fun together,” said Yu, who brought 20 people to the event.
For Local 1000A member Sylvia Debruin, the day was an early way to celebrate Father’s Day with her family.
“We are spending a good day with dad,” said Debruin, who works at McCain Foods.
The local union offered discounted tickets to members and their loved ones, which included the price of admission plus all-you-can eat BBQ.
