Paul was a union activist working part-time in the grocery department of Loblaws prior to joining the local union as a Staff Representative in 1993. In addition, Paul, a York University graduate, was one of the original rank-and-file SPURs who worked in the organizing department and helped launch the SPUR program. Paul has served as Director of No Frills, Director of Loblaws, and most recently, as Executive Director. He had a leadership role in the 2006 No Frills negotiations and he is the lead negotiator for the current No Frills negotiations. In addition to leading negotiations for other collective agreements, Paul chaired the scheduling sub-committee for the union’s negotiations with Loblaws in 2015. Paul is also the local’s lead representative on negotiating maintenance of pay equity with Loblaws and our representative on the union national grievance and arbitration committee of locals who have collective agreements with Loblaw Companies Ltd.
