Joel first got involved in the labour movement during a faculty strike while attending Wilfrid Laurier University. Inspired by the solidarity he witnessed, he dedicated himself to their struggle and never looked back. After working with the Ontario Federation of Labour and Workers United (SEIU), Joel was hired on staff at the local union in May 2010. In addition to communications, he is responsible for Young Worker initiatives at the local union and sits on the OFL and CLC Young Workers’ Committees.
