A long-time activist, Kevin was hired on staff in March 2010. His involvement in the union dates back to 2000 when he became a grocery clerk at Tony’s No Frills in Hamilton. Since then, Kevin has been a steward, a special union project representative, co-chair of his region’s youth network and completed the national office’s three-week youth internship program. He has also participated in the Talking Union program. In 2005, Kevin was elected president of the local’s Southwest Retail Division and in 2008, he was elected as a member of the local’s Executive Board. Kevin is also very active in the NDP, and worked as a campaign manager for a successful NDP campaign. He worked as a Member Engagement Representative, then a Senior Member Engagement Representative before becoming a Union Representative in May 2016.
