Negotiations Resume for UFCW 1006A Members at Loblaws Great Food & Real Canadian Superstore

Negotiations resumed from November 21 to 24 as UFCW 1006A’s negotiating committee for Loblaws Great Food & Real Canadian Superstore held multiple meetings with the company.

Your committee and the company discussed local-specific contract proposals and then as part of our solidarity bargaining, joined with UFCW 175 & 633’s committee for general proposals.

Progress is slow as many issues are being discussed. This is not unusual and is part of the negotiating process. Your negotiating committee is working to achieve the best possible contract for our 13,000 Loblaws Great Food and RCSS members.

The next set of negotiations is scheduled for November 27, 28 and 29.

The negotiating committee includes 14 rank and file members, who were elected at proposal meetings held across Ontario in early October. The committee also includes Local Union Executive Board members who work at Loblaws Great Food and RCSS, experienced union negotiators and union staff. Our committee is also supported by member liaisons, who have been recruited in each of the 60 Loblaws Great Food and RCSS stores, to inform and engage with members throughout the process.
