Important Vote

Your union is preparing for upcoming contract negotiations as the Loblaws Great Food and Real Canadian Superstore contract expires on June 30, 2024.

Proposal meetings and votes to elect members to your union negotiations committee have been scheduled – see chart below.

Agenda: Proposal Meeting and Vote For Member Liaison in your Region for Bargaining Committee

There will be two meetings and vote times. The first will commence at 10:00 am and the second will commence at 7:00 pm. The polling station and ballot box will be open for voting shortly after the start of each meeting and will remain open for members to vote for 2 hours after the meeting start time. Ballots will be counted at the conclusion of the 7:00 pm meeting. Members must attend your store’s assigned meeting location as balloting is by region (see chart below). Please bring identification along to vote.

Vote Notes:

Stores are assigned to one of seven geographic regions to elect negotiating committee members to represent members in their area on the union negotiating committee.
At each meeting, members will elect two committee members (one part-time and one full-time) from the group of Member Liaisons to be their region's representatives on the union negotiating committee.
Members of the negotiating committee will be required to attend all negotiation sessions as scheduled. Committee members bring their workplace experience to the table and work alongside skilled union negotiators to help reach a renewal contract with the improvements members deserve.

Member engagement is critical to achieving a fair union contract. Attending a proposal meeting and encouraging your co-workers to do the same is a great first step!
