UFCW 1006A members at the Comfort Inn hotel in Ingersoll have ratified a new union contract.
“With union representation, members get the benefit of experienced negotiators working hard to improve their wages, benefits and working conditions,” said President Wayne Hanley. “We are proud of the great work of our negotiating committee in achieving a fair deal for our members at Comfort Inn Ingersoll.”
The term of the contract is from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2028 and covers 20 members.
The negotiating committee consisted of members, Jennifer Ferrow, Amy Johnson and Gillian Mills and Union Representatives Joe Blythe, Kyle McGreal and Greg Penner.
Highlights
- 11 per cent wage increase over the term of the contract
- Increase to training premiums
- Addition of five personal days
- Added vacation entitlement for members with 15 years and 20 years of service
- Additional paid statutory holiday: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Increase to the shoe allowance
- Fairer workloads with language ensuring room attendants have less rooms to clean
- Reduced the time that discipline remains on file
