Irine Reji was in tears when she found out she won a UFCW 1006A scholarship.
“The majority of the voting population are workers like us, and we want to make sure working-class voices are heard by politicians,” said Emily Boyer, a union steward at the Whitby Superstore.
“It was a fantastic contract and the members voted overwhelmingly for it,” said member Mekonnen Geresin.
