Ontario's Union for fairness, equality and respect at work.

UFCW Canada Local 1006A is currently aware of the outbreak of positive COVID-19 cases, at the Loblaws store at Dupont and Christie. Several members are at home in isolation.

Our members’ health and safety is our number one priority and that is why Local 1006A is calling for all operations to cease at the Dupont and Christie location for at least two weeks so the scale of the outbreak can be properly assessed.

"We stand in solidarity with our members and their families during this immensely difficult and uncertain time," said President Wayne Hanley.

Our union representatives are closely monitoring the situation at Loblaws at Dupont and Christie and have been in the store to provide support to our members.

All workers deserve to be safe. The health of our members should come first and we are urging management and senior company officials to enforce the necessary and additional measures to protect the wellbeing and safety of our members.

The union is also calling for all members at this location to have the capacity to self-isolate and not lose income due to this possible workplace exposure.

Currently, the store is operating at a limited capacity, with PC express open and pharmacy customer traffic allowed. We are encouraging all members with questions and concerns to contact their union rep. As always, we are here to help.
