UFCW 1006A members at Courtyard Marriott Toronto Mississauga West have ratified a new union contract with several gains.
“It is a good contract because everyone gets wage raises,” said Archit Singh, a member of the negotiating committee. “The contract is good for part-time and full-time workers and overall, everyone liked it.”
The contract term is from October 24, 2023 to October 23, 2027 and covers 40 members.
“Workers in the hotel sector know they can count on UFCW 1006A to improve their rights and working conditions,” said President Wayne Hanley. “We are proud of our strong track record of helping hotel workers achieve fairness at work. I’m proud to congratulate our members on their new contract and commend our negotiating committee for a job well-done.”
The union negotiating committee consisted of members, Joshua Maramba and Archit Singh and Union Representative Joe Blythe.
