UFCW 1006A members at Compass (Air Canada Signature Suites Premium Lounge) have ratified a new union contract.
“I am happy with the contract,” said Davine Campbell, a member of the negotiating committee. “Even though we didn’t get everything we wanted, we did get the important things.”
The negotiating committee consisted of members, Davine Campbell, Mandy Case and Recorder Glacier Effs-Samuel.
“I love being on the committee,” Campbell said. “We worked hard for the members.”
The term of the contract is from March 1, 2024 to February 28, 2027 and covers 80 members.
“Union representation provides workers with the power and ability to improve their livelihoods and working conditions at the negotiating table and beyond,” said President Wayne Hanley. “We are proud of the exceptional work of our negotiating committee, which helped Compass workers at Toronto Pearson Airport achieve a fair union contract.”
