Ontario's Union for fairness, equality and respect at work.

UFCW 1006A is pleased to announce we are participating in the Labour of Love campaign, launched by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

Alicia Talarico, President of LLSC and Ryan O'Quinn, a Director at LLSC, presented a Labour of Love plaque in recognition of UFCW 1006A's life-saving advocacy in raising funds and awareness in the fight against blood cancers.

The plaque was received by Executive Assistant to the President Dan Gilbert and Recorder Glacier Effs-Samuel.

The campaign honours UFCW Canada members' compassion and generosity in the fight against blood cancers.

Since 1985, UFCW Canada members have raised more than $54 million for the LLSC.

Our members' support has saved lives and helped patients with leukemia and lymphoma live longer.

In the last 20 years, the LLSC reports the five-year survival rates have increased by 19 per cent for leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma.

Recently, UFCW 1006A stewards raised more than $6,500 at our annual conference.
