Workers at Diamond Property Services, in janitorial services, voted to join UFCW 1006A.
The bargaining unit is made of members who work in a condo residence in Toronto.
The online vote was held by the Ontario Labour Relations Board from December 9 to 10, 2025.
“UFCW 1006A is the best union in Ontario for workers seeking fairness and protection at work,” said President Wayne Hanley. “We are thrilled to welcome our newest members from Diamond Property Services to our union family. We look forward to supporting our members as we begin the process of negotiating and securing a first contract.”
Key issues leading to unionization included job security and protection, wages and benefits.
“This group of workers demonstrated tremendous unity and determination in seeking and achieving union representation,” said Lesley Prince, Director of Organizing.
UFCW 1006A also represents Diamond security guards at another location.
