Gabrielle's Story
Belonging to UFCW1006A has made a real difference in my life, especially when it came to navigating post-secondary education.
In October 2020, I was honoured to receive a UFCW 1006A scholarship, which helped support my tuition costs and showed me that the union truly invests in its members' futures.
Appendix C, Section 6 has been especially beneficial because after working 2,750 hours at my store, I gained the ability to alter my base availability, making it much easier to balance work with classes, studying and exams.
This flexibility was especially important as my store has gone through three different owners, bringing change and uncertainty.
Throughout these transitions, my union representative has been incredibly helpful, always answering questions and providing guidance.
Knowing I had that support gave me confidence and peace of mind. UFCW 1006A provides stability, support and opportunity when it matters the most.
