UFCW Local 1006A is Ontario's union for Security Guards. As the leading security guard union, we represent thousands of security professionals who serve communities throughout the province.
Local 1006A represents over 3,500 members at 60+ Swiss Chalet locations in Ontario. As the leading local union for restaurant workers, our union has continued grow as workers at Baton Rouge and the Keg joined our local.
Approximately 12,000 union members are employed at nearly 150 No Frills locations across Ontario. Guildwood Valu-mart in Scarborough is also covered by the No Frills union contract. Most No Frills stores are franchises, and are part of Canada’s largest grocery retailer, Loblaw Companies Ltd.
No Frills workers are the local union’s second biggest bargaining unit. Walk into any of these stores, and you will find members working in a variety of a roles such as clerks, cashiers, pharmacy assistants, night crew and more.
UFCW Canada Local 1006A is the union for approximately 13,000 members working under the banners Loblaws Great Food and Real Canadian Superstores (RCSS).
Making up one of the local union’s biggest bargaining units, these members work at grocery store locations across Ontario. Walk into any of these stores, and you will find members working in a variety of a roles, including produce clerks, cashiers, bakers, deli clerks, pharmacy assistants, night crew, meat cutters, bookkeepers and many more.
