UFCW 1006A members at the Executive Hotel Cosmopolitan in Toronto have ratified a new union contract.

The contract term is from November 2, 2025 to November 1, 2028 and covers 31 members.

“The members were so happy this time,” said Zorica Misic, a member of the negotiating committee. “We made huge steps forward and established a good foundation for the future.”

The negotiating committee included members, Chetna Chauhan, Naseem Khan, Zorica Misic, Tashi Topgyal and Union Representative Michael Hurley.

“UFCW 1006A negotiating committees continue to change workplaces and lives for the better across Ontario,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Congratulations to our members at this hotel on their new union contract.”

Highlights

  • Significant Wage Increases over the term of the agreement
  • Addition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a paid holiday
  • Increased shoe allowance
  • Increased benefit and pension plan contributions
  • Elimination of two-tier eligibility for fifth week of vacation
  • Improved grievance and arbitration procedures
  • Better language on leaves of absence and bereavement leave
