On April 1, your union applied for conciliation. The Ministry of Labour appointed a Conciliation Officer who met with both the union and company committees on Tuesday, April 21. His role will be to assist the parties in reaching a settlement.
On Monday, April 20, your bargaining committee met to review and discuss scheduling and local union specific proposals. The committee then met with your employer on April 21, 22 & 23.
On February 10 and 11, 2015, your union bargaining committee – led by experienced negotiators, from UFCW Canada Locals 1000A, 175 & 633, met with representatives from Loblaws Supermarkets Ltd.
Based on contract proposals completed by our members, the committee’s key priorities at the bargaining table included:
HMS Host workers at Toronto Pearson International Airport achieved improvements to wages, benefits, working conditions and much more in their new three-year collective agreeement.
Ratified on October 15, 2014, the agreement runs from December 12, 2013 to December 12, 2016.Those working in positions, where they do not receive tips, will see their wages increase by $1.30 over the term of the agreement. Those in positions, where they receive tips, will see $1 increase over the term of their agreement.
Wage increase, lump sums, Christmas bonuses and benefit improvements were among the gains achieved by workers at Brandt Meats in a deal ratified on November 8.
