Gloria became a member and a steward after her workplace, Grail Springs Retreat Centre, joined Local 1006A in 2018. She became active in her union to ensure members at her workplace were aware of their rights. At her workplace, she was a strong advocate for workers’ health and safety. Elstone was also a member of the UFCW Canada’s National Indigenous Subcommittee. Today, she services members at a variety of workplaces, including No Frills, RCSS, Loblaws Great Food, YIG, and Frulact.
