Jeff Ketelaars has made significant contributions to the security sector throughout his career. At 18, he began his journey in law enforcement, later joining the Canadian Security Union, where he played a pivotal role in training and shaping the security industry. Jeff's advocacy efforts span from legislative modernization and license fee reduction to developing mandated basic training. He also earned a position on the Private Security Industry Advisory Committee with the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

In 1995, Jeff became the Secretary-Treasurer of UFCW Local 333 after the merger with the Canadian Security Union. He has tirelessly advocated for security guards, working relentlessly to secure higher wages, job security, and comprehensive training for union and non-union security personnel.

Jeff led a campaign during the pandemic to ensure security guards were recognized as front-line workers. He successfully preserved successor rights for guards, ensuring their union contract rights remained intact when employers change.

As 1006A’s Director of Security Guards, Jeff is committed to strengthening the union's presence in the security sector, helping security guards gain a powerful voice in shaping the future of the industry.
