UFCW Canada Local 1006A was proud to observe the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on May 17, 2016.
The day is marked in 130 countries around the world and is intended to raise awareness and spur action against the discrimination, prejudice and violence faced by members of the LGBTQ community around the world.

Local 1006A members will have the opportunity to review and vote on details of the tentative agreement at ratification meetings and polls, which have been scheduled throughout the province.
Your union strongly encourages you to attend the ratification meeting and/or poll in your area and have your say.

Today, we mark an exciting and historic occasion as Local 1000A and Local 206 come together as one to form a stronger, more diverse and powerful local union, UFCW Canada Local 1006A.

"I am very grateful to my union for protecting my rights as a No Frills employee. Upon starting my university studies in 2014, I applied for the UFCW Local 1000A scholarship... Union members are at the forefront of standing up for equality and fairness in our workplaces and our communities.
